Mardi Himal Trek 2020

Mardi Himal Trek is a short but worth-it trekking trail situated just east of the Annapurna Base Camp in the lap of Machhapuchhre (6997m) and Mardi Himal (5553m). This trek trail offers the spectacular view of landscape, close-up panoramic view of snow-capped Annapurna ranges and enlightening walks through serene forests. Flirtatiously traversing on the southern skirts of the Annapurna Conservation Area, the trek takes off to the base camp of the Mardi Himal itself.
Beginning from the capital, Kathmandu, itself, we head to the tourist hub of the country, Pokhara. A brief stop in the city signals a drive to the trail-head of the trek at Pothana. Beginning the trek through calming forests ahead of Pothana, we walk northbound towards the Forest Camp. A great viewpoint this, the views of the Annapurna ranges are pretty sublime. Resuming the walk on enchanting tracks, we pave the path to Badal Danda. The frolicking wildlife and diverse array of plants allow for a glorious engagement with nature. Next up on the trek, High Camp is a demanding walk away as we cross 3,000 meters’ altitude. Trekking further to High View Point, we are sure to be spellbound by the Himalayan vistas of Annapurna, Machhapuchhre, and Nilgiri along with the Mardi Himal (5553m). Making a descent to Siding, we begin to part ways with the mountains in the Annapurna region. A trek to Pokhara via Khanepani books a half-day of excursion to the prime destinations in the valley. A drive from Pokhara along the Prithvi Highway takes back to Kathmandu. We also explore several world heritage sites in the valley before you head to your destination. September to November and April to June are the best times to undertake the trek.
