EBC / Island Peak climbing trek - 16 days

Island Peak is one of the busiest trekking peaks in the Everest region. It is inside the Imja valley on an altitude of 6183m above the sea level. It is a very famous and great trekking peak.
On the route to the summit we need to pass steep slopes and narrow ridges. For this reason ice- equipment is required. Even though I will fix the ropes up to the summit, you should be familiar with the use of it.

From the summit you will have a great view on the south flank of Lhotse (8501m), Nuptse (7879m), Lhotse Shar (8383m), the view on Makalu (8475m) in the East and the huge peak of Ama Daplam and Baruntse in the South.

The best time to climb the Island Peak in Nepal is during spring and autumn. While autumn (from mid-September until late November) would be the best time due to excellent weather, it is still possible to climb Island Peak from December to late February. The best time in spring is from mid-March to May. The very special of the spring time is, that you can see various kinds of wild flowers and especially the Rhododendron, which is the national flower of Nepal. Island Peak Programme Description.

The Island Peak Trek includes the great trek to the Everest Base Camp (EBC) as well as the trek to the top of the Kala Pattar.
